Car Collection Motorsport scores vital points at the Red Bull Ring

Car Collection Motorsport scored vital points in the Porsche Sports Cup Germany at the Red Bull Ring – the team finished second twice in the STT.

The Red Bull Ring hosted the fourth race weekend of this year’s Porsche Sports Cup Germany season. Car Collection Motorsport fielded a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport for Jova Zec in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GT4. Having missed the races at the Nürburgring due to an accident, Zec was now back in action.

In qualifying, the AF Race Performance Academy development driver secured eighth place on the grid, meaning he had to mount a comeback in both half-hour races.

The Car Collection Motorsport driver succeeded in doing just that. In both races, Zec managed to work his way up to fifth place thanks to clever driving and skilful manoeuvres. As a result, the driver scored vital points in both races. With these two comebacks, Jova demonstrated his talent and fighting spirit.

At the same time, the team fielded a Porsche 911 GT3 R in the Special Tourenwagen Trophy (STT), which was also held at the Red Bull Ring. Bernhard Wagner and Peter Schmidt were at the wheel. In both races, the Porsche 911 GT3 R secured a strong second place in the diverse field of this long-established racing series.

“Jova managed to mount good comebacks in both races and secured vital championship points. It was important for him to be able to bounce back like this following the disappointing experience at the Nürburgring,” said team manager Romina Schmidt. “We also competed in the STT with the Porsche 911 GT3 R for the first time this year. We’re delighted with the two second-place finishes, which meant we achieved strong results in both races – something we’re very pleased about.”

The next ADAC Racing Weekend takes place on the last weekend of August – the Porsche Sports Cup Germany will be back on the grid once again. The race at the Ardennes rollercoaster circuit in Spa-Francorchamps will mark one of the season’s major highlights.
