| The Car Collection Motorsport team kicked off the winter season with a commanding performance at the Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi. On the demanding Yas Marina Circuit, the team from Hesse finished both sections of the endurance classic in sixth place in the Pro-Am class, laying a successful foundation for the upcoming races. After intensive testing in recent weeks, the team was well prepared for the first highlight of the winter season. The Porsche 911 GT3 R with start number 3 ran like clockwork over the entire race distance of twelve hours. The quartet of drivers, consisting of Victor Plekhanov, Damir Saitov, Aleksei Denisov and August Raber, impressed with their reliable and consistent performances. Although the quartet has relatively little racing experience in GT3 sport to date, all drivers managed a flawless race with some impressive lap times. The performance of 16-year-old August Raber was particularly noteworthy. In his very first GT3 race, the young talent fitted seamlessly into the team and impressed with his impressive speed. The entire team mastered the special format of the race, which was divided into an eight-hour and a four-hour section, without any problems. Thanks to a flawless team performance, they finished in a well-deserved sixth place in both races. Romina Schmidt, Team Manager Car Collection Motorsport: ‘It was a challenging weekend, but both our drivers and the crew did a very good job. We got through reliably and without damage – exactly as we had planned. I am impressed by August’s strong debut, who confidently held his own in the field in his first GT3 race. Overall, we are very satisfied with the team performance and the clean race.’ ult.” |
