As the longest race of the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie season, the KW 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen race is the annual highlight of the popular endurance series, which boasted a particularly strong field of entrants this year. Car Collection Motorsport lined up on the grid with two cars. Alongside a Porsche 911 GT3 R, which competed under the ‘Goroyan RT by Car Collection’ banner, the team from Walluf fielded a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport for permit drivers for the first time. Porsche contracted driver Nico Menzel drove the Porsche 911 GT3 R in the six-hour race alongside Artur Goroyan and Alex Fontana. The trio were aiming for a strong result in the race, not only in the SP9 Pro-Am class but also in the overall standings. Menzel underlined this ambition with a lap time of 7:54.903 minutes in qualifying, securing ninth place on the grid. In the race, Nico Menzel produced a spectacular start, gradually fighting his way up the field in the highly competitive GT3 class. One manoeuvre in particular, spanning several corners on the GP circuit, caused a stir in the stands and among those watching the live stream. Alex Fontana and Artur Goroyan also impressed with fast lap times and a flawless performance. The #4 Porsche crossed the line in fourth place after six hours of racing and finished second in the SP9 Pro-Am class. In the SP10 class, Car Collection Motorsport fielded a power-reduced Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, driven by Alexander Fach, Montego Maassen and Joel Monegro. Monegro had already obtained his licence earlier this year and used the race to gain more experience on the Nordschleife. For Fach and Maassen, it was their first outing in the Nürburgring Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. The car consistently completed its laps throughout the six-hour race and finished sixth in class, with the driver trio also leaving several more powerful GT4 cars behind them. Alexander Fach and Montego Maassen successfully completed their permit race and are now eligible to compete in more powerful cars on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. “Many thanks to the whole team for their strong performance in the six-hour race. Artur, Alex and Nico put in an incredibly strong performance throughout the day. In the race, they secured an incredibly strong fourth place, which is particularly remarkable given that Artur and Alex do not have a great deal of Nordschleife experience in GT3 cars. This makes us very optimistic about our future outings with the Goroyan RT. Our first Permit event was also very successful. Alex and Monti have successfully completed their Permit.
