| At the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland on the Ardennes rollercoaster circuit at Spa-Francorchamps, Jova Zec secured two solid points-scoring finishes for Car Collection Motorsport. The event at Spa-Francorchamps marked one of the absolute highlights of the season in the Porsche Sports Cup Germany. As usual, Car Collection Motorsport fielded a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, driven by young driver Jova Zec. Changing weather conditions over the weekend made things difficult for the competitors on the historic circuit in the Ardennes. To get to grips with the challenging Grand Prix circuit, Zec and the team had already completed a test at Spa-Francorchamps several weeks before the race weekend. He also took part in the official test on the Thursday before the event. Friday in the Ardennes was particularly affected by changeable conditions, and Jova Zec finished qualifying in seventh place in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport class. On Saturday, the two half-hour races took place on the 7.004-kilometre circuit. In both races, Jova Zec drove a flawless race, whilst many of his rivals received penalties for breaching the track limits. In the first race, he managed to move up to fifth place in his class. In the second race on Saturday afternoon, Zec also finished fifth in his class. The driver, who is supported by the AF Race Performance Academy, prevailed in a thrilling three-way battle towards the end of the race. In the end, he had the narrowest of margins over his two rivals. “Given the changeable conditions, it wasn’t the easiest event at Spa-Francorchamps. Nevertheless, we’re pleased that Jova drove a flawless race and was able to finish both races in a solid fifth place. He’s made further progress over the weekend and we’re now looking forward to the season finale at Hockenheim,” said team manager Romina Schmidt. The season finale of the Porsche Sports Cup Germany will take place from 2 to 4 October at Hockenheim. In addition to the two half-hour sprint races, a one-hour endurance race will also be held there for the first time this year, in which the Car Collection Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport will also compete. |
