EN: Racing in the desert – Car Collection to compete in the 24H Dubai and the 6H Abu Dhabi

Car Collection Motorsport is relying on proven strategies for the start of the 2026 season: as in previous years, the Hessian racing team will begin the new season on the Arabian Peninsula. On two back-to-back weekends in January, two highlights of the 24H Series organised by Creventic are on the agenda: the Michelin 6H Abu Dhabi and the Michelin 24H Dubai.

The 24H Dubai in particular has been a fixture in Car Collection Motorsport’s racing calendar for many years. In the past, the Hessian team has finished on the podium several times in this race. In 2019, it even achieved overall victory in the traditional race on the Arabian Gulf. In Abu Dhabi, Car Collection can even look back on a flawless record. In its only two starts in 2021 and 2024, the team clinched overall victory on both occasions.

Two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs will be on the grid in Abu Dhabi on 10 January. The number 7 car will be driven by Victor Plekhanov, Damir Saitov and Aleksei Denisov. Plekhanov and Saitov are already very familiar with the team’s procedures, having driven for Car Collection at this year’s 24H Dubai and Gulf 12H Abu Dhabi, among other events.

The second Porsche, with start number 87, will compete under the Origine powered by CC entry. The three Chinese drivers Bob Yuan, Leo Ye and Wei Lu will take turns at the wheel. Yuan already gained experience with Car Collection at the 24H Spa and will also compete in Dubai alongside Ye. They will be joined in the 24H race by their compatriot Yi Deng and two other drivers who will be announced shortly.

Both races can be followed live on the 24H Series YouTube channel. The race in Abu Dhabi will start on Saturday, 10 January 2026, at 3 p.m. local time (12 noon CET). A few years ago, the 24H Dubai was also moved from its traditional Friday slot to Saturday, so the lights for the 2026 edition will turn green on 17 January at 1 p.m. local time (10 a.m. CET).
