| The Car Collection Motorsport team is set for another exciting and challenging winter season this year. It all kicks off with the Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi, where the Hessian team has enjoyed great success in the past. Car Collection will be fielding a Porsche 911 GT3 R on the Formula 1 circuit. After the 2025 summer season, the Car Collection Motorsport team will not be taking a well-deserved winter break, but will continue to go full throttle on other continents. The team has currently completed a large number of test drives, particularly on the tracks in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. From December 12 to 14, Car Collection will not only be competing in the Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi, a well-known endurance classic, but also in a race in which it clinched class victory two years ago. In 2018, it even managed to finish second overall on the podium. The team led by team manager Romina Schmidt will tackle the demanding track, where the current Formula 1 world champion was crowned last weekend, with a Porsche 911 GT3 R. Victor Plekhanov, Damir Saitov, and Aleksei Denisov will take turns at the wheel. The fourth man in the team is 16-year-old August Raber. The young talent, who lives in the United Arab Emirates, comes from a background in formula racing and will be competing in his first GT3 race in Abu Dhabi. The Gulf 12 Hours has a special feature: the 12-hour race is run in two stages. On Sunday, December 14, 2025, an eight-hour session will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time (6 a.m. to 2 p.m. CET), before the final section of four hours takes place at 7 p.m. (4 p.m. CET). The race will be broadcast live on the organizer’s YouTube channel. Romina Schmidt, team manager: “We are very happy to be back in Abu Dhabi. We have had some very good tests and have always been very successful here in the past. We are fully motivated again this year and, as always, will give our all to achieve the best possible result.” |
