EN: A weekend to forget at the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring

At the fourth race weekend of the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring, there was unfortunately not much to gain for Team Car Collection Motorsport. On Saturday, the #69 with Florian Spengler and Markus Winkelhock finished 14th, while the #33 with Thierry Vermeulen and Mattia Drudi suffered a retirement. On Sunday, both cars of the team from Walluf did not see the checkered flag.

Right from the start, Team Car Collection struggled at the Nürburgring. Like all Audis in the field, the drivers had difficulties keeping up with the lap times of the competitors. Already in qualifying for Saturday’s race Thierry Vermeulen (#33) and Florian Spengler (#69) could only finish 18th and 20th. In the race, the #33 Audi retired after a collision. Markus Winkelhock, who took over the #69 towards the middle of the race, crossed the finish line in 14th place.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go any better on Sunday. The two Audi Sport drivers Mattia Drudi (#33) and Markus Winkelhock (#69) did not manage to go beyond positions 14 and 16 in qualifying. In the hectic starting phase, both lost further positions. Winkelhock had contact with a rival and had to park the Audi R8 LMS GT3 after the first lap. The same happened to Thierry Vermeulen in the second half of the race when he had to pit his damaged Verstappen.com Audi after a collision.

In just 14 days, there will be a chance to attack again at the Lausitzring. That’s when the fifth race weekend of the ADAC GT Masters takes place.
