EN: Car Collection starts with three strong cars at the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring

This year, the 24-race event at the Nürburgring is once again one of the absolute highlights on the GT3 teams‘ racing calendar. The Car Collection Motorsport squad will contest the classic race in the Green Hell with no less than three strong Audi R8 LMS evo II GT3 cars. In addition to the #22, which will start under „Audi Sport Team Car Collection“ with support from Audi Sport customer racing, two cars from Lionspeed by Car Collection, the #23 and the #24, will also take to the race twice around the clock.

After the third place at the 24h Qualifiers two weeks ago, the Car Collection team is very optimistic about the upcoming, long race weekend. As at the Qualifiers, the squad around team boss Peter Schmidt will compete with three Audi R8 LMS evo II GT3 cars.

The number 22 car, which will start under Audi Sport Team Car Collection with the support of Audi Sport, can rely on a very prominent driver crew. As many as four Audi Sport drivers take turns at the wheel. With Christopher Haase, Nico Müller, Patric Niederhauser and René Rast, this driver pairing is perhaps one of the strongest in the field.

The number 23 car, which competes under Lionspeed by Car Collection and starts in the PRO-AM classification, is driven by Dennis Fetzer, Klaus Koch, Audi Sport driver Dennis Marschall and Simon Reicher.

In the starting number 24 – also under the Lionspeed by Car Collection designation – four strong drivers will also take turns at the wheel. Patrick Kolb, who is competing in the Pro category for the first time this year, will be supported by three Audi Sport drivers. Mattia Drudi, Christopher Mies and Patric Niederhauser, who will make a double start, are among the most experienced drivers.
All three cars have already solved the coveted tickets for the individual time trial of the top 30 on Friday evening thanks to their good results and top lap times at the qualifiers.

This season, for the first time since 2019, spectators are allowed on the track without restrictions. Also taking place will be the popular Adenau Racing Day on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Car Collection will be represented there with the #22 including the drivers.
