The reigning NLS and 24 Hour Nürburgring SP9 Pro-Am Champions, Lorenzo Rocco di Torrepadula and Patrick Kolb will compete this year, thanks to the support of their Partners, under the colours of Team Lionspeed GP. After three successful years with the well-known lion-branded Porsche, the new setup in 2021 will bring changes not only to the team name, which is now branded as Team Lionspeed GP, but also to the manufacturer and the technical support.
Lionspeed GP is proud to join a strong platform for growth and competition by entering a partnership with CarCollection Motorsport, supported by Audi Sport driver Patric Niederhauser. Kolb and Rocco, along with the whole Lionspeed GP team, will put their vision to work and compete again for the SP9 Pro-Am victory in the 24H Nürburgring and the NLS Championship.
“CarCollection Motorsport has successfully proven in International GT Sport that they have the infrastructure and the know-how to provide us with optimum support. With an overall third and second podium place at the 24H of Nürburgring 2019 and 2020, CarCollection has demonstrated that they are one of the highest performing teams at the Nürburgring.”, says Patrick Kolb. “The foundation of Lionspeed GP is an important milestone and we are proud to be a part of the team’s long-term view and strategy, which is to become a recognized player in International GT Sport.”
Together with its longstanding sponsors and partners, Rocco and Kolb were able to establish themselves as a winning combination at the Nürburgring with wins in the CUP2 Class, SP7 and SP9 Pro-Am both in the NLS Championship and in the 24 hours of Nürburgring in their GT3 debut season.
